Re: Nolan - Released
Footballs changed, players are earning fucking packets, and we all pay fucking packets to watch it. Gone are the days of the players have a beer after the game in the locals, being "normal" human beings.

If I don't think players earning 12.5 million in 5 years are trying there hardest I will boo the fuck out of them.

Some of the players we've had have been nothing short of a disgrace and I'd put Nolan in that bracket.

I don't give a shit what people think about that.

Now that it is official..

I wish Kevin Nolan and his family the very best of luck.

I have moaned about him a lot but as I have said many times the first two seasons he scored vital goals and was an important reason to why we stayed safe.

Without goals Kevin Nolan is like a pencil without any lead.

Hurt my eyes that. Reminded me of watching the later episodes of the littlest hobo where its like watching a TV with your eyes covered with vaseline.

Re: Nolan - Released
Goodbye and close the door on your way out.

He strutted around the pitch with his hands balled up into fists and a scowl on his face to show how hard he is but he was a coward who jumped out of tackles and was easily intimidated.

Here's one example of many - a grainy clip of the Gomis equaliser for Swansea last season. Nolan doesn't even challenge Gomis, just steps aside to allow him a free header- and then starts gesticulating as if he's blaming someone/something else.

It's just one example of his lack of professionalism that characterised his recent performances. Seeing his name on the team sheet made my heart sink. It was like being down to ten men.

A player who gets £50k a week needs to put himself on the line for the club. He's a fraud, a spineless player who's not up for the fight and not fit to wear a West ham shirt.

I'll be eternally grateful for his contribution to the club. Such a shame that he's continued to play so badly for so long as it's distorted a lot of opinions on him. I hope people remember his positive work.

Delighted that he has gone and is off the wage bill though.

Re: Nolan - Released
For his first two seasons he was a key team member, albeit one that the team was too often centred around for most of our likings. His past two seasons have seen his game and legs fall away, probably should've had no more than a 3/4 year contract when he came but these are how things in football go. Good luck to him wherever he ends up next and i thought his farewell message was nicely done.

He did us a good job and was a good player and goal scorer.
But it is always hard to like the teachers pet that got all sort of undeserved favours, that type will always be cunts...

Repka probably jumped the queue at the bar in Kos and stiffed P for a quick half of Oranjeboom

Re: Nolan - Released
I don't necessarily think Nolan deserved booing as I never believed he quit on the team.

Players that quit and mail in performances absolutely deserve to be booed. Can anyone seriously argue Upson didn't deserve it last time we were relegated?

ATBOG 4:42 Thu Aug 27
Re: Nolan - Released
Nor would I boo, but i'd certainly vent my spleen at a player who obviously could do better. And that goes further than what's happening on the pitch.

Re: Nolan - Released
Only one player got my two penn'orth - Repka. That time he got booked twice in 60 seconds in injury time against Fulham.

What a cunt.

I've given out a few slow wanker signs though, at Carthorse COLE, and Julien FAUBERT!

Re: Nolan - Released
It's not romantic at all, it's called supporting your club, even if I didn't agree with his selection at times, I might not clap but I'd never boo

ATBOG 4:33 Thu Aug 27
Re: Nolan - Released
Thank fuck for that.

It makes me laugh at the romantic vision some posters have of previous era's of support being loyal to players no matter what. As long as i've been going there's always been a variety of supporters covering the full spectrum of positive to negative. I remember Steve Walford getting grief from the moment his name was read out by the announcer before the team had even left the changing rooms so it's nothing new. How else are the supporters in the ground supposed to vent their frustrations at the favouritism that was shown to nolan? Give out to the manager? The media would have had more of a field day than they already did at our expense if we gave out to him, especially the ones he has in his pocket (keys, gray, brazil etc) and didn't he allegedly have hacklers thrown out of the west stand? The fact is oaf almost assured him a starting berth so he had no incentive to be his best as it was handed to him on a plate.

Onwards & hopefully upwards.

Re: Nolan - Released
For well over a season he has been off the pace required to be a mid/lower premiership regular player. That he has started games has been more down to lack of alternatives than to his abilities.

His forte was scoring the important goal by stealing in from midfield and as he has lost pace and does not have much tactical passing ability I cannot see him lasting much longer, as a player, wherever he fetches up.

All the best to him we have made him rich beyond most of our dreams.

Staffs-Hammer 3:40 Thu Aug 27
Re: Nolan - Released
Far from the worst player we've ever had but the overraction to him from sections of the support has been unwarranted, at times.

That said, for at least a year, he has not deserved a place in the side, for me. Was an automatic choice earlier on his time at the club, and rightly so, but it's right that he's been shipped out.

Re: Nolan - Released
Basically he come to do a bit for MOTD and found the club in a right state, players sitting around chatting or listerning to music, a few training with Scott Parker seeming to take the session and Grant asleep on his desk.

Rossal 3:19 Thu Aug 27
Re: Nolan - Released
I have personally never booed. Don't agree with it

Just stating that i can see why some have when the captain of our club was churning out the performances he was. That plus the stories we've all heard off the field and fans paying alot of money have a right to feel aggrieved
